Brighton

So somehow, I ended up in Brighton, a town right on the south coast of England. I went there for a Halloween party with Kayleigh, met some cool people and had a great time.

(I thought it was a Clue themed party... but only the owners of the house dressed up like people from clue... so me and this guy were both dressed up as Prof. Plum...

I didn't even know there was a beach right next to us...

We stayed in Shoreden-by-Sea. This is the view of the river and neighborhood from the window...

Brighton Station.

Heres a lot of Art i've seen!

Been to a lot of galleries over the past couple weeks... gettin cultured n'at.

first up the Tate Modern. (i didnt take this one...)

tate-modern.jpg The museum is a defunct power station that has been turned into a home for modern art. Its right next to the Globe and directly off of the millennium bridge.

You enter first into the turbine room, which is an immense space. A video instillation on a huge monolith by Tacita Dean was going in there. The pictures didn't turn out great.

Finally the Tate Britain. Sister gallery to Tate Modern, but with exclusively British Artists.

Its been a long while since i've taken time in a gallery, and i've never thoughtfully spent time with individual works. I've definitely been better appreciating my own aesthetic and interaction with art in all forms. I've loved the time i've spent quieting myself in these cathedrals imagery.
